The great British weather showed its face in all its glory last week for our lifestyle sailing event in Poole.

Some of our Head Office team and Partners experienced all four seasons as they sailed a 46ft catamaran around the beautiful Poole Harbour – but it failed to dampen their spirits.

The day started like any other grey autumn day – dark and drizzly – but as the catamaran left the quayside, winter arrived. The wind picked up and the driving rain drowned the team as they left the harbour and headed towards Sandbanks. However, it didn’t stop a few brave souls from helping the Captain to raise the sails.

Despite that, the sea was very calm so everyone managed to warm themselves up with hot drinks without going overboard!

As the catamaran started to make its way towards Swanage though, the wind died down to a spring breeze and patches of blue sky appeared. By the time they had moored up for lunch, it was gloriously warm and sunny!

Our very own Head of Partner Recruitment, David Pearce, was there: “It was certainly a day of two halves. What started as a very grey a miserable day turned into a brilliant day of sailing with fun had by all. The sun coming out was the icing on the cake.”

Our next lifestyle event at Ascot is already fully booked, but to find out what else we have in store this summer, contact our event coordinator James Dixon-Box at j.dixon-box@platinumpartners.co.uk.
