But it’s just a door we hear you say? Of course it is, but one that plays a fundamental role in protecting occupants and buildings from the damage fire can cause.
This week is Fire Door Safety week. Created by the BWF-CERTIFIRE Scheme, the campaign was launched to:
- Raise awareness of the importance of fire doors
- Draw attention to installation and maintenance issues
- Encourage regular inspections of the operation and condition of fire doors
- Educate people on the correct requirements and specification
In a world where building regulations and health and safety are a key part of our everyday lives, it might be too easy to forget about your fire door safety. Fire Door Safety Week is trying to change that.
