Gertie Owen, London based Platinum Property Partner (PPP), was last night commended for her ‘green’ landlord endeavours at the Landlord and Letting Awards.
This is the second year in a row that Gertie Owen, company founder of Perfect Rooms 4 U Ltd, has been recognised at the prestigious awards, last year being crowned the 2013/14 HMO Landlord of the Year.
Gertie said: “I am thrilled to receive this commendation for being a green landlord. I believe it is my duty as a caring landlord to provide the most energy efficient home and to encourage recycling.”
The awards ceremony was held at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire last night and hosted by TV’s Tommy Walsh, who had this to say about the Green Landlord category:
''We will start off with good cheer and congratulations going to several of you in the audience. It was impossible to choose a winner for the Green Landlord category; every landlord who referenced their ‘green’ efforts in their entry are doing a fantastic job. So instead, you will all be getting a well-deserved certificate of commendation!''
Jo Ensby, marketing manager for AEP Media who organise the Awards, commented:
"Whether it's installing solar panels or encouraging recycling and installing energy efficient light bulbs, all landlords that are acknowledging the importance of a property's green credentials deserve to be commended for their efforts. The standard of entries gets more phenomenal year on year, so Gertie Owen has done phenomenally well to achieve recognition in her category.”
Since joining PPP in 2010, Gertie has built a portfolio of six high standard shared houses for young professionals and key workers in South East London. Gertie also featured on Homes Under the Hammer in 2012.
