Three members of Platinum Property Partners' (PPP) network of professional landlords are preparing to 'give more' this summer by taking part in two charity events.
Emma Glass will be travelling to Uganda tomorrow as a volunteer for Christian Aid and Mike Dixon is joining forces with another PPP Partner, Stephan Van Niekerk, to take part in a tandem skydive for the British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association (Blesma) over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Emma, who joined PPP in June 2012, will be undertaking some midwifery work on her two week trip as well as organising school activities for the local children and helping locals with DIY jobs. She was also asked to arrive armed with lots of medical supplies, lip sticks and nail polishes!
Christian Aid aims to empower the poorest people in Uganda by providing them with hope and the opportunity to be self-sufficient and Emma is very much looking forward to being part of the charity's efforts.
Stephan, an amputee and Afghanistan veteran, has teamed up with Mike for 'Fall for the Fallen 2015', in aid of brave ex-service men and women who have lost limbs serving their country. The twosome will be travelling to Netheravon on Saturday 29 August and flying to 13,000 feet before taking the plunge.
Mike said: "I want to do some small thing that scares the hell out of me in honour of our limbless veterans who are an inspiration to us all, showing unbelievable courage, spirit, fortitude and humour in the face of true adversity.
"I have been personally inspired by my nephew, Will Dixon (3 Rifles), who came back from Afghanistan minus one leg only to row the Atlantic as part of the Row to Recovery Crew. Since then, I have had the honour to become a friend and property investment mentor of two more remarkable, multi-amputee Afghan veterans - one of whom, Stephan, is showing me the way on this jump.
"Please give generously, as when I'm sitting in the doorway of that aeroplane, two miles up, wondering what the hell I'm doing, I'd like to know it's going to be worthwhile!"
Emma is already packed with supplies for her Uganda trip, but donations to Christian Aid can be made on their website. However, Mike and Stephan are still looking for donations, which can be made here.
Good luck to them all.
